MINISTER OF FOREIGN AND CARICOM AFFAIRS LEADS DELEGATION AT PANAMA TALKS

Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs Senator the Honourable Dr Amery Browne headed the Trinidad and Tobago delegation at this week's meeting in Panama between Ministers of Foreign Affairs of CARICOM, Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Central American Integration System (SICA), and the European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

While in Panama, Minister Browne met with the Foreign Minister of Guatemala, Mario Búcaro. Discussions focused on the action plan of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), as well as measures to bring our respective nations closer together, including an upcoming visit of Minister Búcaro to Port of Spain accompanied by a business delegation.

Minister Browne also met with His Excellency Josep Borrell, the European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. Their exchange included renewable energy, the signing of the post-Cotonou Agreement, measures to address negative listing, and issues related to cyber security and the trafficking of guns through our region.
