Senator the Honourable Dr. Amery Browne joined Her Excellency Cristina Pérez Gutiérrez, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Trinidad and Tobago for lunch on 6th December, 2024 at the Ambassador’s Residence. The Minister was accompanied by the Ms. Reita Toussaint, Permanent Secretary and the Directors of the European Affairs and Consular Affairs Divisions, while Mr. Vidal Gallardo, the Head of Administration, Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain accompanied the Ambassador.
Minister Browne and Ambassador Pérez Gutiérrez used the opportunity to have fruitful exchange on a range of issues of mutual importance to Trinidad and Tobago and Spain including migration, security, development cooperation, trade, language learning initiatives, energy interests, including renewable energy and a range of geopolitical developments in various regions.
The engagement ended with Ambassador Pérez Gutiérrez and Minister Browne welcoming opportunities for expanded collaboration, including possible political consultations between Trinidad and Tobago and Spain in 2025, as a means of advancing the already warm relations the countries enjoy.
