Senator the Honourable Dr. Amery Browne, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, attended a CARICOM-Mexico Foreign Ministers Meeting on January 24, 2023 in the margins of the VII Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Community of Latin American and the Caribbean States (CELAC) in Buenos Aires, Argentine Republic.
The meeting was hosted by His Excellency Mr. Marcelo Ebrard Casaubon, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, in preparation for the Fifth CARICOM-Mexico Summit which is expected to take place in Mexico City in 2023. The Summit is expected to consider CARICOM-Mexico cooperation in the areas of Climate Adaptation, Health, and Technology Transfer.
Previous CARICOM-Mexico Summits focussed on cooperation in the areas of agriculture, disaster risk reduction, transnational organized crime and the development of an Integrated Risk Management Strategy for the Caribbean.
