Senator the Honourable Dr. Amery Browne, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, met with Ms. Paulina Pajkiert, Protection Coordinator and Ms. Carlota Valverde, Deputy Protection Coordinator of the Caracas office of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), at the Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs on 21st November 2022.
The meeting was symbolic of the ongoing positive and constructive relationship between Trinidad and Tobago and the ICRC. The ICRC representatives described several areas in which assistance could be provided to Trinidad and Tobago by the organization, particularly with respect to processes related to the management of migrant communities in this country. Discussions also focused on humanitarian assistance rendered by the ICRC.
Minister Browne commended the ICRC for its humanitarian mission and expressed the commitment
of the Government of Trinidad and Tobago to continue to collaborate meaningfully with the
organization on matters of common importance.
