Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs hosts interactive security meeting for the Diplomatic Corps


PORT OF SPAIN: 20TH SEPTEMBER, 2018

Senator the Honourable Dennis Moses, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs hosted an interactive meeting on security in conjunction with the Honourable Stuart Young, Minister of National Security, Minister of Communications and Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister; and Mr. Gary Griffith, Commissioner of Police, for Heads of Diplomatic Mission and International Organisations on Tuesday 18th September, 2018 at the Ministry’s headquarters.

The meeting, which was well received by the Diplomatic community, provided an opportunity for information exchange and dialogue on various security-related matters. Additionally, the recently appointed Minister of National Security and Commissioner of Police used this forum as a platform to engage members of the Diplomatic Corps on their new portfolios, giving the assurance that they would work closely with them on all security issues.

The interactive session ended on a positive note with the Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs reaffirming the Government’s commitment to adhere to its obligations as host State, in accordance with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and in keeping with the laws of Trinidad and Tobago.
