Senator the Honourable Dennis Moses, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs welcomes New Ambassador of Costa Rica

Senator the Honourable Dennis Moses, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs welcomed Her Excellency Liliana Edgerton Picado, Ambassador-designate of the Republic of Costa Rica to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago during a Courtesy Call on 3rd May, 2017 at the Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs. The Courtesy Call on Minister Moses preceded Ambassador Edgerton Picado’s presentation of her Letters of Credence to the President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, which took place on Thursday 4th May, 2017.

During the meeting discussions focussed on the strengthening of the bilateral relationship between Trinidad and Tobago and Costa Rica, as well as, future collaboration between both Governments in the areas of the environment and community-based tourism.

Minister Moses also made mention of the recent presentation of Credentials by Her Excellency Tracy Davidson-Celestine, newly appointed Ambassador of Trinidad and Tobago to Costa Rica to His Excellency Luis Guillermo Solis, President of the Republic of Costa Rica.

Ambassador-designate Picado indicated her pleasure to meet with Minister Moses and conveyed best wishes from President Solis to the Government and People of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. Her Excellency expressed her Government’s wish to deepen its relations with Trinidad and Tobago, noting that the year 2017 marks forty-six years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Trinidad and Tobago established diplomatic relations with the Republic of Costa Rica in 1971.
