TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO RECEIVES 10,000 COVID-19 VACCINES FROM GRENADA

PORT OF SPAIN: 30TH MAY 2021

Trinidad and Tobago received today 10,000 doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines, a donation from the Government of Grenada.  Senator the Honourable Dr. Amery Browne, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, accompanied by Her Excellency Frances Seignoret, Ambassador of Trinidad and Tobago to the Caribbean Community and Ms. Anesa Doodnath-Siboo,  Principal Pharmacist (Ag.), Ministry of Health, received the vaccines at Piarco International Airport on behalf of the Government of Trinidad and Tobago.  The vaccines were transported to this country by the Trinidad and Tobago Air Guard.

The Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs thanks the Minister of National Security and the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force for again responding swiftly to our need for transportation of COVID-19 vaccines from within the region to Trinidad and Tobago.

The Government of Trinidad and Tobago extends its profound appreciation to the Government of Grenada for this timely donation of vaccines, which will assist in advancing Trinidad and Tobago’s vaccination programme at this critical juncture in its management of the COVID-19 outbreak locally.
