Trinidad and Tobago receives COVID-19 vaccines from Canada

PORT OF SPAIN: 5 AUGUST 2021

Senator the Honourable Dr. Amery Browne, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, the Honourable Terrence Deyalsingh, Minister of Health, and His Excellency Kumar Gupta, High Commissioner for Canada to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, were on hand at Piarco International Airport at 3:30 p.m. this afternoon to receive 82,030 doses of Astra Zeneca COVID-19 vaccines, donated by the Government of Canada to Trinidad and Tobago.

As the Government of Trinidad and Tobago continues the acquisition of WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines for the population, the Ministry of Health will be utilizing these vaccines within its national vaccine rollout.
