Update on Nationals in the United Kingdom

The Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs wishes to inform that the High Commission for the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, London has confirmed that all nationals within the diaspora who are registered with the High Commission are safe following the terror attacks in the vicinity of London Bridge and Borough Market in London.  The incident occurred on Saturday 3rd June, 2017 and resulted in death and injury.

The High Commission will continue conducting routine checks with the relevant authorities and has issued alerts to ensure that nationals are aware of the safety measures that were implemented.  The High Commission has encouraged all nationals to be vigilant and to adhere to the advertised security measures and to avoid the areas where the incidents occurred.  Nationals have also been advised to contact the Mission in the event of any emergency.

The Ministry wishes to inform nationals travelling abroad to register their stay with the Registration System for Nationals Travelling Abroad via register.foreign.gov.tt. This free service allows the Trinidad and Tobago Overseas Missions to contact nationals to ensure that they are safe and to provide important information.

The  Government  and  the   people of  the  Republic of Trinidad and Tobago condemn all acts of terrorism  and  stand firm in support of  the  people  of the United  Kingdom.    In  this  regard, we continue to pray for the safety and security of the British people.
