A high-level Ministerial Delegation representing Trinidad and Tobago is currently in the Middle East meeting senior members of the Government and the private sector in the United Arab Emirates. The delegation includes:
• the Honourable Sean Sobers M.P., Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs;
• the Honourable Jearlean John M.P., Minister of Works and Infrastructure; and
• the Honourable Saddam Hosein M.P., Minister of Land and Legal Affairs and Minister in the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries.
The visit is in keeping with Government’s desire to broaden bilateral cooperation with the Middle East through:
i. the establishment of a Trinidad and Tobago Diplomatic Mission in the Middle East;
ii. the sourcing of financing for projects in Trinidad and Tobago; and
iii. the increase of trade and investment between Trinidad and Tobago and the United Arab Emirates.
On 24th November, 2025 during the first stage of the visit, the Ministerial Delegation met Her Excellency Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates and discussed several areas of bilateral importance including the possible establishment of a diplomatic mission in the UAE as well as areas for investment in Trinidad and Tobago which are aligned to the Government of Trinidad and Tobago’s Revitalisation Blueprint “Trinidad and Tobago Global Logistical Hub” Initiative. Both countries also discussed a strategic digital partnership which would be the model for the UAE’s footprint in the Caribbean.
The delegation is expected to meet with His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates as well as several private sector conglomerates including AD Ports Group; Royal Group Headquarters; DP World; and the Dubai Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
