The Consular Affairs Division

The Consular Affairs Division has the mandate to deliver Consular Services to Trinidad and Tobago citizens at home, abroad and throughout the Diaspora, and to provide services to non-citizens of Trinidad and Tobago.

Given the growing presence of Trinidad and Tobago students, tourists, expatriates and business men and women around the world, and the increase in awareness of the role played by the Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs with consular assistance, coupled with the growing number of foreigners choosing to visit and reside in Trinidad and Tobago, the Division has doubled its efforts to deliver the highest quality of service to all these groups.

The Division is supported by a network of 20 Trinidad and Tobago Embassies, High Commissions and Consulates General, and 32 active Honorary Consuls located throughout the world.

In the context of preparing for a post-COVID-19 world, Trinidad and Tobago views the expansion of its consular network through the appointment of Honorary Consuls in strategic posts where Trinidad and Tobago lacks diplomatic presence as essential to economic development, trade and investment.

The Division remains committed to the vision of improving its responsiveness to the growing needs of Trinidad and Tobago citizens worldwide and to advancing Trinidad and Tobago’s economic growth agenda via the strategic appointment of Career and Honorary Consular Officers.
