On Wednesday 16th July, 2025, the Honourable Sean Sobers, M.P., Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, received His Excellency William Sidney Bush Howard, Ambassador of the Republic of Colombia to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, during a courtesy call at the Ministry’s headquarters.
The meeting provided an opportunity for a fruitful exchange on enhancing bilateral relations between Trinidad and Tobago and Colombia. Discussions focused on deepening cooperation in key sectors including trade, education, agriculture, sport, and cultural exchange.
Minister Sobers and Ambassador Bush underscored the warm and enduring ties that have historically characterised the relationship between both nations. They reaffirmed their shared commitment to deepening cooperation that fortifies diplomatic relations, cultural appreciation and development for mutual benefit.
Trinidad and Tobago and Colombia established formal diplomatic relations on February 22, 1968. Since then, the partnership has been marked by cordiality and cooperation, grounded in mutual respect and a shared vision for regional progress.
The Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago remains committed to nurturing these valued diplomatic relationships for the benefit of current and future generations.
