Senator the Honourable Dr. Amery Browne, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago met with Ambassador Goran Aleksic, State Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia on Friday 12th May, 2023, in the margins of the Ninth ACS Summit in Antigua, Guatemala.
During the meeting, it was acknowledged that Trinidad and Tobago and Serbia share some concerns as small States, particularly in relation to challenges in promoting sustainable development across sectors of the economy and society.
The importance of the multilateral framework in upholding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of States was also underscored. The meeting ended with a mutual commitment to strengthen communication and collaboration between the respective Ambassadors in Washington DC and at the United Nations in New York.
