Dr. the Honourable Keith Rowley, Prime Minister and Senator the Honourable Dr. Amery Browne, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, participated in emergency meetings of CARICOM Heads of Government convened this week to discuss the grave situation in Haiti. Included among the engagements was a meeting between CARICOM and the Right Honourable Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada.
Trinidad and Tobago joined with fellow CARICOM Member States in supporting the United Nations position on Haiti, and gave firm commitment to supply humanitarian and technical assistance toward the re-establishment of democratic governance in Haiti.
