Caucus of CARICOM Foreign Ministers meet prior to the 51st Regular Session of the General Assembly of the Organization of American States

PORT OF SPAIN: 8TH NOVEMBER, 2021

Senator the Honorable Dr. Amery Browne, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, participated in the Caucus of CARICOM Foreign Ministers on the eve of the 51st Regular Session of the General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS), which is to be held during the period Tuesday 9th to Friday 12th November 2021.

Given the importance of the Organization of American States in addressing regional matters and setting the regional agenda, it was imperative that the CARICOM Foreign Ministers unify their respective positions in preparation for the deliberations during this General Assembly.

Minister Browne advanced the position of Trinidad and Tobago on issues of critical importance to this country and to the Community, including the response of the region to the COVID-19 pandemic, security and a number of regional and hemispheric matters.
