High Commissioner Conrad Enill presents Credentials in Guyana

On 19th July, 2022, His Excellency Conrad Enill presented his Letters of Credence to His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, President of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana, accrediting him as High Commissioner for the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to the Co-operative Republic of Guyana. The presentation took place at the Office of the President following a military salute.

Accompanying the President was the Honourable Hugh Todd, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Ambassador Elisabeth Harper, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. High Commissioner Enill was accompanied by Mrs. Candice N. Shade, Counsellor at the Trinidad and Tobago High Commission.

During the bilateral discussions, High Commissioner Enill and President Ali exchanged views on food security, trade, the oil and gas industry, private sector investment, infrastructure, construction, labour supply and health care.

President Ali expressed his commitment to moving forward on the ongoing initiatives between Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana while High Commissioner Enill stated that he was very committed to improving the lives of ordinary citizens through the combined efforts of the two countries.

On 22nd May, 2022, Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Renewed and Enhanced Cooperation for collaboration and practical cooperation in a number of key areas of interest.

At the end of the Ceremony, High Commissioner Enill signed the Visitors’ Book.

Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana established diplomatic relations on 26th May, 1966.
