His Excellency Colin Connelly presents Credentials in Belgium and The Kingdom of the Netherlands

The Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs is pleased to advise that on 7th December, 2016 His Excellency Colin Connelly presented Credentials to His Majesty Philippe, King of the Belgians, accrediting him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to the Kingdom of Belgium. On 14th December, 2016 His Excellency Connelly presented Credentials to His Majesty Willem-Alexander, King of the Netherlands, accrediting him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to the Kingdom of the Netherlands.


Trinidad and Tobago enjoys close bilateral relations with the Kingdom of Belgium and the Kingdom of Netherlands. In discussions with the Heads of State, Ambassador Connelly conveyed greetings on behalf of His Excellency the President and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. There were also broad exchanges on the need to deepen bilateral ties, climate change challenges, security cooperation, developmental cooperation and Trinidad and Tobago’s role and leadership in the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).


Trinidad and Tobago established diplomatic relations with the Kingdom of Belgium in 1970 and with the Kingdom of the Netherlands in 1962.
