HIS EXCELLENCY DR. LOVELL FRANCIS PRESENTS HIS LETTERS OF CREDENCE TO HIS EXCELLENCY MOKGWEETSI ERIC KEABETSWE MASISI, PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF BOTSWANA

His Excellency Dr. Lovell Francis presented his Letters of Credence to His Excellency Dr. Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi, President of the Republic Botswana on 7th September, 2022, completing the process for his accreditation as High Commissioner to Botswana. The presentation took place at the Office of the President in Gaborone, Botswana. High Commissioner Francis is also accredited to South Africa and is based in Pretoria.

During the courtesy that followed, President Masisi reiterated the long-standing diplomatic relationship between the Republics of Botswana and Trinidad and Tobago including, the friendship, shared history, culture and identity. The President also highlighted the years of cooperation and coordination, as members of the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) group of nations noting that this created a strong template for continued collaboration in a number of areas such as culture, education and economics. High Commissioner Francis in turn affirmed the continued friendship between Trinidad and Tobago and Botswana. The High Commissioner emphasized the willingness of both Trinidad and Tobago and Botswana to coordinate as post-colonial nations, as well as the overarching significance of “Nations of the South,” working together for our collective development and to improve the lives of our citizenry.
