Senator the Honourable Dr. Amery Browne, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, participated in the Third Community of Latin American and Caribbean (CELAC) - China Ministerial Forum virtually on 3rd December, 2021. The Forum was convened to renew the CELAC-China partnership, which was inaugurated in 2015, and review cooperation priorities.
Minister Browne, along with Foreign Ministers from Latin America, the Caribbean and the People’s Republic of China shared issues, concerns and ideas based on the Forum’s theme, “Together overcoming current difficulties and creating opportunities to continue strengthening the China-Latin America and the Caribbean relationship”. Much of the discussion focused on challenges and solutions related to economic revival and COVID-19 mitigation. The forum adopted the Declaration of the Third Ministerial Meeting of the China-CELAC Forum and the China-CELAC Joint Action Plan (2022-2024).
