On August 24th 2022, Senator the Honourable Dr. Amery Browne, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, had a farewell courtesy call with Ms. Randi Lynn Davis, the outgoing Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Trinidad and Tobago, Aruba, Curaçao and Saint Maarten. Ms. Davis was based in Port of Spain since 6th October, 2019. Minister Browne lauded Ms. Davis’ active and productive tenure as UNDP Resident Representative over the last three (3) years, during a critical time in the development of Trinidad and Tobago and the region as a whole, and in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Ms. Davis expressed her pleasure at being able to serve in Trinidad and Tobago, adding that she had many enjoyable experiences and made lasting friendships. The incoming UNDP Resident Representative in Trinidad and Tobago, Aruba, Curaçao and Saint Maarten, Mr. Gerardo Noto of Argentina, was also present at the meeting. Minister Browne took the opportunity to welcome Mr. Noto to Trinidad and Tobago and conveyed that he looks forward to further interaction with the incoming UNDP Resident Representative on mutual interest with respect to collaboration between the United Nations and Trinidad and Tobago. The meeting concluded with a commitment by all parties to work together to advance the already productive ties between Trinidad and Tobago and UNDP.
