Senator the Honourable Dennis Moses, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, commended His Excellency Giovanni Castillo, Ambassador of the Republic of Guatemala for maintaining and building on the strengths inherent in the bilateral relationship between Trinidad and Tobago and Guatemala. These sentiments were expressed during a farewell luncheon on 26th August, 2016.
During the luncheon, Minister Moses expressed best wishes to Ambassador Castillo and his family as they reflected on some of the warm and happy memories of Trinidad and Tobago as well as the professional and personal relationships built during the tour of duty.
Ambassador Castillo thanked the people of Trinidad and Tobago for their support and indicated that the relationship between both countries increased throughout the years not only in diplomatic and political issues but in other fields, such as commerce, investment and tourism. He further stated that more Trinidad and Tobago nationals and Guatemalans have been exploring both markets with strong possibilities for business and Guatemala is becoming a tourist destination for nationals of this country.
His Excellency stated that he was leaving this beautiful island with good memories to share with family and friends as he embarks on his tour of duty in India.
