Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs bids farewell to His Excellency Marcelo Salviolo, Ambassador of Argentina.

Senator the Honourable Dennis Moses, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs expressed his hope for continued friendship and cooperation between Trinidad and Tobago and Argentina, as he bid farewell to the outgoing Ambassador of Argentina to Trinidad and Tobago, His Excellency Marcelo Salviolo during a luncheon hosted in the Ambassador’s honour on 8th June, 2016.

Minister Moses also thanked Ambassador Salviolo for his hard work and efforts at deepening the bilateral relationship between Trinidad and Tobago and Argentina, and extended sincere appreciation to His Excellency on behalf of the Government and people of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago for the meaningful contribution he made as Ambassador of Argentina to our twin island Republic.

The Argentina Ambassador facilitated bilateral initiatives in the areas of trade, education, health and sports, among others. Commenting on his tenure, Ambassador Salviolo indicated that he was both ‘honoured’ and ‘privileged’ to serve for five and a half years as Ambassador of Argentina to Trinidad and Tobago. He highlighted that this country, “accurately lives up to the words of its National Anthem, ‘where every creed and race finds an equal place,’…...as evident by its cultural richness, diversity and harmony.” He thanked the people of Trinidad and Tobago for the rich experience he gained and indicated that Trinidad and Tobago and Argentina should keep strengthening and deepening the bonds between the two countries, “growing together in order to enhance the quality of life of all our citizens.”
