Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs welcomes His Excellency Khaled Ezzat Omran Seilfallah

On 19th October, 2016, Senator the Honourable Dennis Moses, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, received His Excellency Khaled Ezzat Omran Seifallah, Ambassador-designate for the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago at the Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs. The courtesy call on Minister Moses preceded Ambassador-designate Seifallah’s presentation of his Letters of Credence to His Excellency Anthony Thomas Aquinas Carmona, O.R.T T., S.C., President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.


His Excellency expressed his pleasure at having the opportunity to visit Trinidad and Tobago for the first time. He commented on the similarities that exist between Egypt and Trinidad and Tobago in terms of the warmth of the people.


The Ambassador expressed his concerns on the current situation regarding ISIS and the negative connotation that was reflected on persons of Muslim persuasion.


The Minister underscored that citizens of Trinidad and Tobago were not given to stereotyping individuals. The Minister referred to the existing relations between both countries and the successful collaboration in the international arena, and also highlighted that there is a need for future cooperation and collaboration that would result in consolidating the relationship between both Nations, in addition to creating a greater understanding of the cultural and religious differences that exist between both countries.
