Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs bids farewell to Her Excellency Candace A. Bond, United States Ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago

Senator the Honourable Dr. Amery Browne, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, received a farewell courtesy call on Tuesday 14th January 2025, from Her Excellency Candace A. Bond, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. Ambassador Bond will soon end her assignment and depart this country on 20th January, 2025.

The meeting commenced with the presentation by the Minister of a piece of Trinidad and Tobago’s artwork to Ambassador Bond. The piece of artwork called “Obscura,” is crafted from aluminum fused with metallic pigments and ink and was created by local artist Debra Evans.

The Minister expressed heartfelt appreciation for the positive impact of Ambassador Bond’s efforts on the people of Trinidad and Tobago. The exchange focused on the outstanding work carried out by the US Ambassador and the US Embassy over the last two years which further secured the strong relationship between Trinidad and Tobago and the USA in areas such as national security, social development, and education.

Ambassador Bond expressed her gratitude for the friendship, cooperation, and assistance extended by the Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, contributing to many achievements over the last two years in the bilateral relationship.

Minister Browne thanked Ambassador Bond in particular for her immersion in and support of Trinidad and Tobago’s culture, and extended best wishes to her and her family as they depart our shores and move on to other endeavours.
