Senator the Honourable Dr. Amery Browne, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs held discussions with His Excellency Yutaka Matsubara, Ambassador of Japan during a meeting on 11th December 2023, at the Ministry’s headquarters.
Discussions were held on a number of bilateral issues including, the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Trinidad and Tobago and Japan in 2024. Talks also focused on the possible provision of technical assistance by the Government of Japan to Trinidad and Tobago as well as, opportunities to enhance people-to-people exchanges between Trinidad and Tobago and Japan.
The meeting ended cordially with both Minister Browne and Ambassador Matsubara committing to further discussions on strengthening the bilateral relationship between Trinidad and Tobago and Japan.
