MINISTER OF FOREIGN AND CARICOM AFFAIRS MEETS HIGH COMMISSIONER-DESIGNATE FOR CANADA TO TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO

Senator the Honourable Dr. Amery Browne, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs received a courtesy call at the Ministry’s headquarters on Tuesday January 28, 2025 from His Excellency Michael Ryan Callan, High Commissioner-designate for Canada to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, to accept copies of his Letters of Credence.

The discussion covered a range of ongoing issues including the impact of evolving global affairs, peace, friendship, the diaspora and growth built on a strong foundation of common values and principles.

The Minister and the High Commissioner-designate committed to open dialogue with each other on the challenges faced by both Trinidad and Tobago and Canada, with the assurance to cooperate on matters of shared interest and to meet regularly on the issues discussed.

The meeting ended cordially with Minister Browne extending congratulations to High Commissioner-designate Callan in advance of the presentation of his Letters of Credence to Her Excellency Christine Carla Kangaloo, O.R.T.T., President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces accrediting him as the High Commissioner of Canada to Trinidad and Tobago.
