MINISTER OF FOREIGN AND CARICOM AFFAIRS MEETS WITH AMBASSADOR-DESIGNATE OF THE ARGENTINE REPUBLIC TO TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO

Senator the Honourable Dr. Amery Browne, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs received a courtesy call from His Excellency Gustavo Daniel Martínez Pandiani, Ambassador-designate of the Argentine Republic to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago on Tuesday 4th June, 2024 at the Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs in St. Clair.

The courtesy call took place prior to the Ambassador’s presentation of Letters of Credence to Her Excellency Christine Kangaloo O.R.T.T., President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, which took place at President’s House later that afternoon.

In extending a warm welcome to Ambassador Martínez Pandiani, Minister Browne acknowledged the very friendly and long-standing relations between Trinidad and Tobago and Argentina since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1964, highlighting the mutual respect and deepening friendship which have resulted in cooperation in areas such as trade, science and technology, phytosanitary and animal health, disaster preparedness and management and Spanish language learning. Minister Browne highlighted that cooperation could be furthered in areas such as tourism, sport and digital transformation.

Ambassador Martínez Pandiani expressed an interest in exploring and deepening areas of cooperation and indicated his eagerness to bolster the strong relationship between both countries and to bridge the gap between the Caribbean and Latin America.

Minister Browne and Ambassador Martínez Pandiani concluded the meeting with a commitment to continuous engagement and exploration of additional opportunities for collaboration.
