MINISTER OF FOREIGN AND CARICOM AFFAIRS MEETS WITH HIGH COMMISSIONER-DESIGNATE OF THE REPUBLIC OF MAURITIUS TO THE REPUBLIC OF TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO

Senator the Honourable Dr. Amery Browne, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, received a Courtesy Call from His Excellency Purmanund Jhugroo, High Commissioner-designate of the Republic of Mauritius to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago resident in Washington, D.C., United States of America, on 20th February, 2024 at the headquarters Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs.

This Courtesy Call took place prior to the High Commissioner-designate’s presentation of his Letters of Credence to Her Excellency Christine Carla Kangaloo, O.R.T.T., President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.

Minister Browne warmly welcomed the High Commissioner-designate to Trinidad and Tobago and congratulated him in advance on his presentation of letters. Minister Browne and the High-Commissioner-designate acknowledged the common historical and cultural experiences which shaped Trinidad and Tobago and Mauritius. Areas of potential cooperation between both countries which included tourism and agriculture were discussed.
