Senator the Honourable Dr. Amery Browne, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, met with His Excellency Matsubara Yutaka, Ambassador of Japan, at the Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs on 12th April, 2023.
Minister Browne and Ambassador Matsubara exchanged views on matters of mutual interest in the bilateral relationship between Trinidad and Tobago and Japan and plans for the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment diplomatic relations between both countries in 2024.
Minister Browne and Ambassador Matsubara also discussed opportunities for cooperation in the multilateral arena including the election of His Excellency Dennis Francis, Permanent Representative of Trinidad and Tobago to the United Nations, to the Presidency of the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
