Senator the Honourable Dr. Amery Browne, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs met with His Excellency The Most Reverend Santiago De Wit Guzmán, newly-appointed Apostolic Nuncio to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, on Thursday 13th October, 2022, at the Ministry’s headquarters.
The courtesy call took place prior to the Apostolic Nuncio’s presentation of his Letters of Credence to Her Excellency Paula-Mae Weekes O.R.T.T., President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, which took place at President’s House later that morning.
Minister Browne extended a warm welcome to His Excellency and posited that the Nuncio’s wide diplomatic experience would augur well for the continuation of friendly bilateral relations. In this connection, he commended the work of the Nuncio’s predecessor and committed to providing ongoing support to the Mission.
The meeting ended cordially with both Minister Browne and His Excellency committing to strengthening the bilateral relationship between Trinidad and Tobago and the Vatican.
