Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs participates in several meetings and engagements in the margins of the United Nations General Assembly in New York

Senator the Honourable Dr. Amery Browne, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, Head of the Trinidad and Tobago Delegation, attended the Special Meeting of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) Ministerial Council at the Westin Grand Hotel, New York on Wednesday September 21, 2022.

His Excellency Mario Adolfo Búcaro Flores, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Guatemala, in his capacity as Chair of the Ministerial Council of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), in his opening address, asserted that member countries must be prepared to raise their challenges in unison at the 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference, commonly referred to as COP 27. Further, he felt that the upcoming Conference should be seen as an opportunity to operationalize the ACS Action Plan, which has as a major goal, the enhancement of opportunities for investment for countries in the region.
