MINISTER OF FOREIGN AND CARICOM AFFAIRS PRESENTS EXEQUATUR TO THE NEWLY APPOINTED HONORARY CONSUL FOR THE SWISS CONFEDERATION

On 30th June, 2023, Senator the Honourable Dr. Amery Browne, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs presented Ms. Simone Marie Louise Gillette with her Exequatur during a ceremony at the Ministry’s headquarters in Port-of-Spain. This confirms Ms. Gillette’s appointment as Honorary Consul General for the Swiss Confederation in Trinidad and Tobago.

During the ceremony, Minister Browne held brief discussions with Ms. Gillette, during which he congratulated her on her appointment and remarked on the sixty years of cordial diplomatic relations between Trinidad and Tobago and the Swiss Confederation. The Minister also highlighted the ongoing cooperation between both countries in areas such as education and training and indicated that Ms. Gillette is well poised to offer assistance to Swiss nationals in Trinidad and Tobago. Additionally, Minister Browne identified opportunities to deepen cooperation between both countries, by exploring areas such as Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and renewable energy.

Minister Browne offered the support of the Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, as Ms. Gillette assumed her new role as Honorary Consul.
