Her Excellency Makeda Antoine-Cambridge, Ambassador of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to the Italian Republic, presented her Letters of Credence to the President of the Italian Republic, The Honourable Sergio Mattarella, at the Palazzo del Quirinale in Rome, Italy on Friday November 9th 2018.
During the ceremony, The Honourable President extended warm greetings to Her Excellency followed by an exchange of views on the historically cordial bilateral relations that exist between Trinidad and Tobago and Italy. Ambassador Antoine-Cambridge, in endorsing The Honourable President’s sentiments, expanded on the various initiatives she would undertake as Trinidad and Tobago’s highest representative to Italy, to further strengthen relations and cooperation between both countries. In that vein, the Ambassador reiterated her Government’s commitments to these objectives.
The Ambassador also holds the portfolio of Permanent Representative of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to the United Nations in Geneva and other specialized agencies across Europe.
During her visit to Rome the Ambassador also met with Mrs. Cornella Richter, Vice-President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), Ambassador Roberto Natali, Special Envoy for the Caribbean Countries of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy and Dr. Alessandra Priante from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, Forestry Policies and Tourism.
