On Friday 12th May, 2023, Senator the Honourable Dr. Amery Browne, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago met with Mr. Karim Khan, Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in the margins of the Ninth ACS Summit in Antigua, Guatemala.
The meeting emphasised the importance of greater participation within the ICC by Member States from the Group of Latin America and the Caribbean (GRULAC), to promote diversity and more responsive policy-making in the organisation. In this regard, Minister Browne agreed to explore avenues for further engagement with the ICC, specifically in the development of programmes to facilitate training and knowledge transfer.
