TRAVEL ADVISORY FOR TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO CITIZENS VISITING FRANCE FOR THE OLYMPIC GAMES PARIS 2024

The Olympic Games Paris 2024 take place from 26th July to 11th August 2024 and the Paralympic Games are scheduled to be held from 28th August to 8th September 2024.

The Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs wishes to advise its nationals of the following prior to their journey to France:

•  Ensure that your passport is up to date and valid for travel at least 3 months after the envisaged departure date from France.

•  While Trinidad and Tobago nationals do not require a visa to enter the Schengen Zone, including France, for purposes of business or vacation for a period of up to 90 days within a 180-day period, it is the Immigration or Border Protection Officer who will determine whether you are allowed to enter France. Ensure that you obtain a visa, if required, for any country through which you may have to travel on route to France.

•  Persons travelling to France or throughout the wider European continent MUST be in possession of a return ticket and have sufficient funds for the duration of their stay and in the instance of an emergency. Travel Insurance should be considered mandatory.

•  France is currently on its highest security alert in the lead up to the Olympics and travellers should expect high levels of security presence nationwide.

•  Be aware of your surroundings, ensure personal responsibility for your safety and secure your valuable items like credit cards, passport and cash. Keep photocopies of the biodata page of your passport and other important documents in case the originals are lost or stolen. Have these copies easily accessible at home or electronically.

•  Register your overseas travel with the Registration System for Nationals Abroad (RSNA), a free service provided by the Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs. The details you provide will help the relevant Embassy and crisis staff to contact you and provide better assistance in an emergency such as a natural or man-made disaster or civil disturbance: https://register.foreign.gov.tt/

•  If your passport is lost or stolen, contact should be made immediately with the following Mission of Trinidad and Tobago, which is the Mission in Europe authorized to issue Emergency Travel Documents to nationals of Trinidad and Tobago:
