Trinidad and Tobago to participate in the Eighth Summit of the Americas.


PORT OF SPAIN: 12TH APRIL, 2018

Trinidad and Tobago is scheduled to participate in the Eighth Summit of the Americas, the primary forum for hemispheric dialogue, where Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, will lead this country’s delegation at the meeting. The delegation includes Minister Fitzgerald Hinds, Minister in the Office of the Attorney General. Minister Moses will meet with Heads of State and Government of the Americas, representatives of civil society organisations, indigenous peoples, youth, the private sector, labour unions and other social actors, for discussions at the highest level on shared challenges and opportunities, as well as concerted action aimed at improving the quality of life of peoples of the Americas.

The theme for the Eighth Summit of Americas “Democratic Governance Against Corruption” is of primary importance to the Government and people of Trinidad and Tobago. The Government is resolute in its commitment to fight the scourge of corruption and to bring to justice those who have engaged in acts of corruption. In this regard, the Eight Summit of the Americas provides an opportunity to exchange experiences, best practices and insights, which will rebound to the benefit of Trinidad and Tobago.

Minister Moses will also attend the Ministerial Meeting of the Summit Implementation Review Group (SIRG) of the Summit of the Americas process on 12th April, 2018.
