Update on Trinidad and Tobago Nationals in Turkey

The Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs has been in direct contact with the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to Turkey relative to the safety and whereabouts of nationals of Trinidad and Tobago who are in Istanbul, Turkey following the attack yesterday at Ataturk Airport, Istanbul in which at least twenty-eight (28) persons were killed.

The Honorary Consul has informed that to-date there has been no report of death or injury to nationals of Trinidad and Tobago in Turkey. However, a national of Trinidad and Tobago who was at the airport at the time of the attack has been located and arrangements have been made for that national to continue her onward journey. The passenger has since been contacted by the Ministry and has confirmed that she is safely accommodated at her hotel. The Honorary Consul has also been in direct communication with the passenger.
