Police Certificates of Character
Nationals and non-nationals in Trinidad and Tobago may require Police Certificates of Character for use from time to time.
Applicants can send the following information either to the TTPS directly via courier, or to a family member currently in Trinidad and Tobago, or through any Trinidad and Tobago Mission Overseas:
a) Bio Data (Finger Print Form)
• If the finger prints are captured by a Foreign Police Authority, the bio-data must be notarized (Signed and Stamped);
• If the fingerprints are taken by a Private Fingerprint Service that is appointed by the state, then the fingerprints must be certified by an authorized Notary Public and the Notary Public’s stamp affixed;
b) Copy of applicant’s notarized passport bio-data page;
c) Fifty dollars Trinidad and Tobago currency (TT$50.00) or Bank Note / Bank Draft equivalent;
d) Letter addressed to the Senior Superintendent of Police Criminal Investigations Department/ Criminal Records Office detailing the applicants request to have the bio data processed also indicating the address they require to be used on the Certificate of Character;
e) Enclosed return postal fee of chosen courier service if sent directly to the TTPS.
