Minister Browne addresses the Opening Ceremony of Latin Nights III

On 12th June, 2023, Senator the Honourable Dr. Amery Browne, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, addressed the opening ceremony of ‘Latin Nights III,’ a celebration of Latin American and Spanish culture, arts and cuisine. Stating that the 3rd Latin Nights launch bears testament to the enduring role that cultural promotion and development holds in society, particularly as we face new global challenges, Minister Browne advocated for strengthened regional integration, greater people-to people interactions and the bridging of cultural divides through cultural diplomacy.

Invitees were afforded the opportunity to view an exhibition of artefacts and a photographic exhibition and were treated to culinary samples of food and drink from countries participating in Latin Nights III: Argentine Republic, Republic of Chile, Republic of Cuba, United Mexican States, Republic of Panama, Republic of Peru, Dominican Republic, Kingdom of Spain, and Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

Other cultural items on display included film screening, dance, drums and spoken. The evening’s festivities concluded with a dynamic performance by Panamanian jazz singer Idania Dowman.
