On Wednesday 9th October, 2024, Senator the Honourable Dr. Amery Browne, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, addressed the launch of ‘Latin Nights IV’, a celebration of Latin American and Spanish culture in the form of dance, film, photography, art and cuisine. The Minister reflected on the importance of appreciation for the varied expression of culture and advocated for the bridging of cultural divides through cultural diplomacy.
Also addressing the opening ceremony at the National Library and Information System Authority (NALIS) were Ms. Paula Greene, Executive Director of NALIS and His Excellency Wellington Bencosme, Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to Trinidad and Tobago. In his remarks, Minister Browne reflected on the importance of appreciation for the varied expression of culture and advocated for the bridging of cultural divides through cultural diplomacy.
Invitees were afforded the opportunity to view a photographic exhibition and performances. They also had an opportunity to sample food and beverages from the different participating countries: Argentine Republic, Republic of Chile, Republic of Colombia, Republic of Cuba, Dominican Republic, United Mexican States, the Republic of Panama, Republic of Peru, Kingdom of Spain, and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
Latin Nights IV runs from October 9 to 19, 2024 and will display the beauty of arts and culture of Latin America and Spain. The event continues until 19th October, 2024.
