MINISTER OF FOREIGN AND CARICOM AFFAIRS BIDS FAREWELL TO MR. GERARDO NOTO, OUTGOING UNITED NATIONS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME (UNDP) RESIDENT REPRESENTATIVE A.I. IN TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO

Senator the Honourable Dr. Amery Browne, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs bid farewell to Mr. Gerardo Noto, outgoing United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative ad interim in Trinidad and Tobago during a courtesy call on 29th June, 2023 at the Ministry’s headquarters.

Mr. Gerardo Noto became the UNDP Resident Representative a.i. for Trinidad and Tobago, Aruba, Curacao and Saint Maarten on 1st September, 2022. Mr. Noto has devoted more than 30 years to public service, human development, democratic governance, conflict management, citizen participation and the inclusion of women, youth and minorities.

Mr. Noto, who will still be engaged with CARICOM after his departure from Trinidad and Tobago, expressed commitment that the UNDP will continue to assist in areas of climate change, security, youth inclusion and digital transformation.

Minister Browne thanked Mr. Noto for his contributions in Trinidad and Tobago and noted that during his time here, his schedule of activities was a perfect fit for this country’s development agenda. He further indicated that he looks forward to welcoming Mr. Noto’s successor who has a strong platform on which to build.
