MINISTER OF FOREIGN AND CARICOM AFFAIRS BIDS FAREWELL TO OUTGOING AMBASSADOR OF JAPAN

Senator the Honourable Dr. Amery Browne, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs bade farewell to His Excellency Yutaka Matsubara, outgoing Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago during a farewell courtesy call on 28th November, 2024 at the Ministry’s headquarters.

Minister Browne commended Ambassador Matsubara on his tenure in Trinidad and Tobago and expressed his gratitude for His Excellency’s contribution to the enhancement of bilateral relations between Trinidad and Tobago and Japan. The Minister expressed his delight that the Ambassador was able to enjoy many aspects of Trinidad and Tobago during his tenure including its natural environment, cuisine, and culture.

Noting that Trinidad and Tobago and Japan are celebrating the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between both countries this year, Ambassador Matsubara thanked Minister Browne for his support in commemorating this significant milestone. He recalled positive memories of his tenure in Trinidad and Tobago, the highlight of which was the May 2023 visit to Trinidad and Tobago of His Excellency Yoshimasa Hayashi, the then Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan.

Ambassador Matsubara’s tour of duty concludes on 9th December, 2024.
