MINISTER OF FOREIGN AND CARICOM AFFAIRS MEETS WITH MS. JEWEL ALI, OUTGOING HEAD OF THE INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION FOR MIGRATION OFFICE IN PORT OF SPAIN

Senator the Honourable Dr. Amery Browne, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs met with Ms. Jewel Ali, outgoing Head of the International Organization for Migration Office (IOM) in Port of Spain during a meeting on 12th July, 2024 at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs.

The meeting served as a farewell courtesy call on the Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs before Ms. Ali departs Trinidad and Tobago to take up her new role as Head of Mission in Timor- Leste. Mrs. Ali has been head of the IOM Office in Port of Spain for over seventeen years. Minister Browne took the opportunity to thank Ms. Ali for her service and commitment during her tenure in the office in Port of Spain and to wish her well in her new role.

Ms. Ali expressed her gratitude for the support of the Minister and the Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs during her tenure and used the meeting as an opportunity to introduce Mrs. Desery Jordan-Whiskey as the Officer in Charge of the IOM Office in Port of Spain until a new Head of Office is appointed.

The meeting ended cordially with Ms. Ali indicating that the IOM remains committed to providing the highest level of support to the countries in the Region.
