MINISTER OF FOREIGN AND CARICOM AFFAIRS MEETS WITH THE AMBASSADOR-DESIGNATE OF THE REPUBLIC OF KOREA

Senator the Honourable Dr. Amery Browne, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, received a courtesy call from His Excellency Seijoong Kwon, Ambassador-designate of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, on 5th September, 2024, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs.

The courtesy call immediately preceded the Ambassador’s Presentation of Credentials to Her Excellency Christine Carla Kangaloo O.R.T.T., President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.

Minister Browne and Ambassador Kwon spoke briefly about the history of engagement between Trinidad and Tobago and South Korea and their shared commitment to strengthen bilateral relations. They also exchanged views on the opportunities presented by the 40th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations to be commemorated in 2025.

Ambassador Kwon is an experienced diplomat who has previously served overseas in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the People’s Republic of China and the United States of America. He will be based in Port of Spain and will also be accredited to Barbados, Grenada, Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
