On Tuesday 17th September 2024 Senator the Honourable Dr. Amery Browne, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs attended the Thirty-Ninth Inter-Sessional Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) held via videoconference.
Discussions at the Meeting centred on the free movement of CARICOM nationals and the Situation in Haiti. The Thirty-Ninth Meeting also facilitated the coordination of CARICOM positions on key issues ahead of Member States’ participation in the Seventy-Ninth Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York later this month.
The Trinidad and Tobago Delegation was led by Dr. the Honourable Keith Rowley, Prime Minister of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and included the Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs.
Prime Minister Rowley, as lead CARICOM Head for Security and Energy, also welcomed the discussions on the preparations for the upcoming Second Regional Symposium on Crime and Violence scheduled to take place in Guyana in November, 2024.
