Senator the Honourable Dennis Moses, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs extended on behalf of Dr. the Honourable Keith Rowley, Prime Minister and the Government and People of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, congratulations and warm wishes to Ambassador Piotr Kaszuba and the Government and People of the Republic of Poland on the observance of the National Independence Day of Poland on 23rd November, 2016.
During his statement, Minister Moses noted that it was a bittersweet moment as it also marked the end of Ambassador Kaszuba’s tour of duty. Minister Moses then reflected on the fruitful discussions they held during his tenure on ways in which they could further explore avenues for bilateral cooperation in areas such as energy, trade and investment with a view to deepening relations between Trinidad and Tobago and Poland.
Minister Moses highlighted that “while our countries may differ in terms of geography and history, we share many commonalities and there exists scope, particularly through exchanges in trade and culture, to foster closer ties between our peoples.”
During his address, His Excellency Kaszuba had the pleasure to announce that the President of Poland had granted Mr. David Lewis, Honorary Consul of Poland the Officers Cross of the Order of Merit of Poland for outstanding achievements in the promotion of the bilateral relations between Trinidad and Tobago and Poland. Ambassador Kaszuba praised Mr. Lewis for his devotion and for bringing pride to Poland as he actively integrated the Polish Community in Trinidad and Tobago and served with commitment and efficiency while promoting polish business, culture and history.
Ambassador Kaszuba also stated that Trinidad and Tobago and Poland share the same values and relations and have been very successful. He indicated that Poland was interested in cooperation in energy, trade and aviation among other areas.
Trinidad and Tobago and Poland established diplomatic relations in August 1998.
