Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs bids farewell to outgoing Ambassador of Korea

Senator the Honourable Dr. Amery Browne, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs bade farewell to His Excellency Dong-il Oh, outgoing Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, during a courtesy call on 19th July, 2024, at the Ministry’s headquarters.

Minister Browne congratulated the Ambassador on a successful tour of duty and expressed his appreciation for the Ambassador’s efforts to enhance the bilateral relationship between Trinidad and Tobago and Korea, which provides a strong foundation for his successor.

Ambassador Oh shared fond memories of his academic and diplomatic career, which led him to being appointed as Ambassador of Korea to Trinidad and Tobago. Additionally, His Excellency noted the warm reception given to him and his family during his tenure in Trinidad and Tobago.

During the meeting, Minister Browne and Ambassador Oh also took the opportunity to discuss the commemoration of the 40th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Trinidad and Tobago and Korea in 2025 and other matters on the bilateral agenda.

His Excellency’s tour of duty in Trinidad and Tobago officially concludes at the end of July 2024.
